I am laying some serious wood on the St. Louis Cardinals -1.5 It's only paying -135, but Carpenter is the man, and Houston already knows they'll be watching the playoffs at home. Anyone else with me? You want to talk me out of it? What's up?

The only thing in Houston's favor is Moehler's good numbers vs. the Cards. BUT his last 3 ERA is above 5 (same as his season ERA), St. Louis' bullpen is a full point better than the Stros, and Carpenter is 7-1 with a 1.74 at home. The pros significantly outweigh the cons.

Look for better picks. NEVER play the Cardinals (and Yankees) on the runline as -300ish home favorites. I think these look good for the afternoon games:
Texas FF +180
Cubs RL
