I'm torn between the DET/BOS game. Verlander isn't anything special AWAY, but he did limit the Yanks to 2 in NY recently (still losing the game 1-2). Even his last two home games were very unlike himself. Then again, Verlander's day-game ERA is 1.74--lower than his home ERA of 2.11 and away ERA of 4.68. Situationally, I realize it's still Verlander, he's still a flame-throwing ace, and this is an especially heated match-up judging from the past few days' events. Buchholz is certainly nothing special, but Boston's bullpen is well-rested whereas Detroit's is less rested. Buchholz has gotten shelled in his few day appearances, but he still has a 3.18 ERA at home. Detroit has lost 12 out of 14 and 20/26 road games...

If the line keeps moving and Boston is a home dog, and with 79% jumping on Verlander, seems like Boston has the advantage. Then again, they are going for a sweep which is tough to do anyway..especially vs. Detroit and Verlander.

I like the Cubs today too but my lock is KC/Minnesota Over 9! Gil Meche for KC threw a 132 pitch shutout on June 16th....since then in 5 starts he's managed only 23.2 IP with a 8.75 ERA! A case of the late season dead arm maybe? I don't think Carl Pavano will be a good fit in Minny either...groundballs are going to sneak thru on that turf! He's over 9 ERA career vs the Royals! The Twins last 17 home games have avg. 12.2 runs/game with 10 hitting double digits!

Looks like a bad beat (push in this case) w/Over 9 in KC/Minny? 5-4 in the 5th...still 5-4 bottom 9...need 1 more run Twins!! I like the Nats (+138) tonight too w/maybe a cover bet & parlay on Over 9.5 in case the Nats pitching falls apart...their pitcher is only a 5-6 inning guy! The Nats key hitters are 10-26 (.385) off of Arroyo and Dunn hits breaking balls well! I see Arroyo pitching around him big time! Nats 7-5 tonite!!
