Over Alert: Oak at Bal over 9.5
The A's have been crushing the ball, but I guess this line is low because of the Orioles sputtering at the plate lately. The O's have played 16 of 23 games on the road since the break and they are finally crawling home where they have a winning record (believe it or not) and swing the bats well. With two crappy starters on the hill, I think the A's continue corking out the hits and the O's match them run for run. The O's are also an official JM system play, which lends credibility to them snapping back against a similar opponent.

Gawd, this baby has 11-6 written all over it, but I'll leave it to you to make up your minds. My units are already booked and waiting.

May I introduce you to Mr. Gio Gonzalez - WHIP 1.07, ERA 1.93 GB-FB 1.43 (last 3 games), Pitched shutout ball his last game.

I think Mr. Gonzalez may have something to say about your plans.

The amazing thing about Gonzalez is that his ERA is 6 and change, yet in the last 3 games it is 1.93. This guy is getting better everytime he pitches.

My thoughts exactly Curious... I watched him pitch vs the Yanks and he was rolling until I think the 5th or 6th inning when they started finally pounding him. I dont like it at 9.5...

You might be right, Curious, but I don't see "phenom" stamped on Gonzalez's forehead. I think the O's get to him a little bit and then hammer the A's pen. Meanwhile, the O's starter, Guthrie, has been mediocre most of the year and is 0-3 with an ERA over 6, and 0-3 with an ERA over 8 against the AL West in 5 starts. Plus, the O's pen is dead tired after a lot of work on a lousy road trip.

I think the A's will keep raking and the O's bats might perk up after getting home. I have the O's as a system play, but this could be a wild one.

I will stamp "phenom" on Gonzalez's forehead now, Curious. The dude was lights out. But those A's bats did keep raking and I got a lucky win on the over.

                    Chasing Baltimore heavy tomorrow.

That one worked, too. It made me sweat, but it also made me about 7 units.
