Shouldn't you have some experience managing before getting hired for such a high profile job?

All a manager has to be anymore is relatable and understand the game of baseball. Ross marks both boxes. It’s a good hire.

He is liked by the players and that is very important. I think this is a good hire.

A "professional" dancer who has no managerial experience... Sounds about right! Seriously, he's probably a good fit for that bunch.

Not like he's the first hire without experience. Aaron Boone? Scott Servais? Craign Counsell? Mike Matheny? AJ Hinch?

You get rid of Maddon, who brought you a World Series after 100 years, for a guy that has never managed before.

This seems like a dumb move. Sometimes a player's coach isn't always the best thing.

Plus, Hinch won a World Series. Boone now has 2 consecutive 100 win seasons. Results are mixed, naturally, but the point is that hiring a younger former player manager with no experience is really not that unusual any more.

Boone and hinch have loaded rosters, neither team is good because of the manager. Hinch pitching Verlander on 3 days rest as garbage.
