LT what about rubbish teams like the Red Sox? Well maybe I should say teams that have played like rubbish all season so far. Does the model factor in that fact. I was leaning on the Tigers tonight at plus 190. Detroit is playing great- Boston is playing poorly. I don't think they can play any worse than the way they have played.

Line looks pretty spot on as I get Boston 67% (-204)

And model does not care about wins and losses but rather the underlying metrics, and so far Boston has underachieved and Detroit has overachieved, so expect regression to the mean as usual.

How many weeks are people going to say Boston is going to regress though. Just like Golden Knights were not given any respect their entire first season, when are people going to believe this team is not worth the huge fav lines being put up. I vaguely remember Boston doing similar several years ago; expected to be top of AL and was last or 2nd last in AL east end of season.

If the Red Sox are truly bad, it will eventually be reflected in the metrics. Right now. those still look pretty good so let's see where that goes.

That being said, I have saved a lot of money on the Red Sox this season by never laying over -150.
