There's a little thing called the Home Run Derby going on at Busch Memorial Stadium. This hme run derby will be one that gives almost everyone an equal shot at winning it.
The dimensions are 330 in left 330 in right 372 left center, 372 right center and 402 dead center. It doesn't get any more pure than that as far dimensions go. So you have to go with a guy who is an all around hitter. A guy who can hit to all fields with power, just in case the fly balls carry well in the derby.
I'm gonna roll with The American Idol Joe Mauer who boasts a .622 slugging% and a .373 batting average, tops at both statistics in the American League. His swing is nice and easy and he requires little effort to get the ball over that wall. His walls are .327 in left and .408 in center which are very comparable to Red Birds' Nest.
Joe Mauer+800
My second selection would have to be any contestant who plays at a park that has a lower home run ratio than Busch Memorial Stadium.
Prince Fielder and Adrian Gonzalez fit that mold, but Gonzalez isn't seeing the ball and isn't hitting in the slugging categoray as well. Gonzalez is hitting .250 and has a slugging% of .523. He plays for a struggling team and may be pressing a bit. Fielderis hitting .315 average and .614 slugging% playing his home games at Miller Prk, the 3rd toughest place to hit home runs this year in the bigs. Petco Park was the 2nd toughest, but once again Gonzalez average has not been up to par. I want each swing to be calculated.
Prince Fielder +600
The most total home runs matchup I like is
Joe Mauer-105
Nelson Cruz-125
My pick Joe Mauer-105
As far as the props for the actual game, I am starting with the first inning and doubling up or tripling up until a run scores for each inning through the third inning with live betting.
