Good Morning ladies and gentlemen, we put the Pirates on the contrarian radar with its big dog status. The squares will be pounding Hamels against a pitcher who is statistically as good or better in some categories. By no means am I saying Ohlendorf is superior to Hamels, not even close, but the numbers, as square as they are, are there for you to ponder.
I watchd the PIT/PHI the condensed matchup on MLB this morning. The Pirates were very competitive in the game with both Blanton and Duke going deep and strong into the game.
With the +210 status that Pittsburgh will be today, it's definitely a serious lookse. I will get back to you later if I pull the trigger.
Opposing points of view are always welcomed.

Marquis goes for the hot streaking Rockies this evening. The Braves handled the Rockies quite effectively last night and should handle them again today in the same manner. The squares love Marquis, impressive numbers, Ace status but little do they no that the Rockies last five opponents have been playing .467 ball, 199-227. The Braves on the other hand have played opponents with a .507 record, 215-209.
I look for the squares to pound Marquis, we will go contrarian or perhaps not with the Braves again. There is no way the Braves can beat the exalted Rockies twice on the road against their Ace. Oh ya, Jurrgens is damn good.
We combine the Braves with the Pirates to create our Saturday Contrarian Double Dog Play (CDDP).
Pirates +210
Braves +110

Excellent input their Pairs, certainly teaching me a thing or two about value in the MLB.
Regarding the Philly game, my limited input would be that Pitts can't hit either often enough or effectively enough. And Ohlendorff should limit Philly's offense.
I would say the under 9 is a good play, the trends suggest the under also.

We punch a ticket on the late game between TEX/SEA on the total. Let's get into the contrarian angle. As you have noticed, I have gotten into a little more explanation today than usual. Having a bit more time today than most days.
TEX 33-50 O/U
SEA 35-49
Combined ERA 6.34
55% of the money on the Under
And finally, our buddy Charlie Reliford is behing the plate with 6-11 O/U record with a 7.7 RPG.
And as far as the line is concerned they are making you pay a premium on the over play, which is a push for the squares to take the under.
Contrarians, this is the "game that can't go Over.
Rangers Over 8 -115

HEY POF's...everywhere I look, I see the public pounding the over 8?
I was planning on making a contrarian play on the under 8, with plus money, which is why I believe there is juice to pay for the over...your thoughts sir?

I can honestly tell you that I am not thrilled with the money action leading up to gametime. The contrarian indicators are all present excluding the money percentage. If capping the game right now, I would make it a no play. However, I am already down.
