.....I seriously doubt that Tony La Russa told Albert to go take the day off and get ready for a meaningless HR Derby. Especially since this is the rubber game against a division opponent which they only have a 1 game lead on. Does he also plan on giving him the other 4 games off against the Cubs before the break to make sure he is really fresh for the Derby? If Pujols is not in the lineup today I guarantee you it's not to rest up for the derby, it's either a schedule day off or resting him to prepare for a 4 game series with the Cubs including a day/night doubleheader.

Exactly, I'm not quoting that as solid information just saying that a poster mentioned it in the STL thread today. I'm seeing if anyone has any backup to that claim. Regardless of the reason Pujols' is out, I'd still like to know if he's truly out or not.Comment
