he threw out the 1st pitch for a white sox game can't find any video of it. I think you just have to worry about pujols catching it. Last night molina dropped the ball on the 1st pitch.

The first camera angle (when it was live)didn't even show the plate and I thought it may have hit the ground.

The replay showed that it justttt barely reached thanks to a Pujols scoop.

Is there any footage to tell what happened? Pujols saying that he managed to catch it is hardly evidence, if I was him I'd have said I caught it as well.

There is footage.

Very weak throw, but it looked like Pujols did prevent it from hitting the ground. Close, though. Obama has a noodle arm.

I didn't see it live, which was a blessing apparently since I heard the live FOX video cut away from Pujols making the catch. But I checked out the tacomax link and the ESPN video (horrid) and from what I can see, the pitch made it without a bounce (and it was NOT a trap). Score one for those betting the heavy favorite. I didn't have a bet on this prop, but it was the quirky kind of sh!t I would've been happy to lay 200 on to win 50. Given Obama's athletic persuasion and his determination not to screw up, I would have been sure he would throw a decent, catchable ball. And damn if he didn't almost screw it up.

As far as stupid prop bets go: At the last Super Bowl, I bet that the singing of the national anthem would be completed in under 2 minutes and whatever seconds. I practiced singing the national anthem myself to try to figure out what would be the better bet. Even after stretching some notes, it seemed that the under was the way to go: only a diva could stretch it beyond the time limit of the wager. Sure enough, Jennifer Hudson stretched certain notes even more than I did and I lost by 3 seconds or so.

But I've won more of these joke bets than lost. Life is short. If you are a long-term winner, you can afford to have fun with these things. Just don't risk half your bankroll on them.

Took Pujols squatting on the plate itself and scooping one up for Obama to avoid dirt, although interestingly enough it's hard to imagine FOX accidentally forgot to pan to the plate when the pitch was thrown- not sure why it was such a big deal to show him possibly tanking a pitch.
