This game should go way over the total with Smoltz and Hill on the mound. Randazzo is behind the plate and he looks like an under umpire but look a bit closer. In the last ten games he worked with the Red Sox the over is 6-3-1, and 3-1 in the last four games he worked with Smoltz. In the last ten he worked with Baltimore the over is 7-3 and 2-0 when Hill has pitched. Hill never goes deep so the O’s pen will come into play. The wind is blowing out to right field in this game.

The rays are one of the hottest teams in baseball and they are doing it with great defense, solid pen work and speed. The Jays have lost 3 out of 4 and will be sellers by the end of July. Garza has given up one earned run or less in his last five starts against the Jays. Rays are 16-5 in their last 21 games as a favorite and the Blue Jays are 2-10 in their last 12 vs. American League East.

The Padres have looked like they have packed it in for the season. Hampton is back and the Padres struggle against everyone but especially lefties. They hit just .199 at home this year against southpaws. Padres are 1-6 in their last 7 home games vs. a left-handed starter and Astros are 20-4 in Hamptons last 24 starts vs. a team with a losing record.
