Cubbie had their ace on the mount this afternoon. They were defeated by Detroit. Terrible start for the day.

Dont bet against streaks. Ever. This is when you learn as a sports bettor. Just dont make the same mistakes.

          Detroit is that good!

I was using Sportrends this morning, and from what I recall by analyzing the last 15 days, Detroits projected line was -250 with a 100% chance of covering today.

I do consider but do not put too much interest on who is pitching since pitchers these days do not pitch the entire game.

How about the "The streak end today" or the "they are due for a win" arguments? Anyway, thanks for the advice guys.

Shouldn't the starting pitcher statistics be a major factor when capping game?

Ok just a few stats seeing you mentioned them... Detroit is 23-11 at home..the cubs 11-21 on the road...see one problem?

The cubs team Ba is 26th in the league against the team with the 9th best era in league...

                See a few quick problems?

About streaks ending...sure try to guess the end of a hot streak... I will just wait till they end...or ride with them...

Well , Cubs looked good early , and that was due to a HR from there minor League call up Jake Fox hitting a 3 run shot. Lilly is a great pitcher , Detroit though very well rounded everywhere. Speed , Hitting and great bull pen

I get burned more often by assuming "they are due for a win"

cubs blow, watch em all season, no one can get a hit when needed, going into todays game we're 0-28 with runners in scoring positon, maybe the shutout was broken today but i dnk was at work. uncle lou dont know what else to do and i agree, the ****s hit the ball decently but once some ducks are on the pond they cant bring em in, yet there only a few games outta 1st. if we ever find ANY hitting, we'll run away with the central cause our pitching is deep, besides the dbag kevin gregg, hated him when he was on my fish cause he blew and same continues in chitown.

Good tips guys. I suppose I put too much weigh on pitching match up.

Detroit is not that good, and I have been a fan for over 30 years. Middle relief and relief will be the downfall of this team. They are ezxcellent at beating the teams they should. They need to live for the farm system, which they do pretty well.
