Yes, I'm fully aware the Mets can't score for shit all month.
Yes, I'm fully aware of Jason Vargas' numbers. (they're horse shit)
Sousa is still out, but Vargas still has to fade that Goldy fella, and is a pesky hitter........

But there's two sides to every story.

I don't prescribe that "this player is due" or "that team is due" thory, but Yeesh, no team can be this cold this long.
Secondly, Mets swept 'Zona the first three games of this season series so far this year.
Thirdly, I'm a Royals fan, Vargas did win 18 games last season for the team I root for.
The kicker is you don't usually know what version of Vargas you're going to get.
At first glance if you just look at Vargas' season numbers and nothing else, you'd miss his last two have been sharp.

Cardinals +112.., total guesswork on wtf we will see from Martinez, his control been absolute dog shit since returning from dl. Wasn’t any reason to rush him as the starting rotation been only thing carrying this team so have to believe it just rust and he should work it off sooner than later.

What I am sure about is cards have a stellar record when they hit at least 1 home run in a game as they incredibly hr dependent for offense. Hendricks allowing 1.5 per 9 with highest hr/fb rate of his career.,think it incredibly reasonable to expect cards to hit a few jacks tonight.

The other thing in their favor is hicks and Norris both rested, this absolutely a game matheny will be willing to use hicks for multiple innings so if cards are close or ahead after the 6th we shouldn’t see any of the scrub pen as it should be hicks/Norris and nobody else!! So 2 of the 3 things cards need to win I think are in place, the 3rd being a question mark but at this price I think they worth it (I thought cubs chances set up much better yesterday at virtually same price tag).., gl everyone
