Was perusing through a few schedules last night and came to the conclusion that Joe Torre and his troops are in the middle of what has to be the easiest five weeks of a schedule that I've seen in a few years. Get this:
- From June 1 through July 2, they will play 27 games in 32 days. Off days on June 8, June 11, June 15, June 22 and July 2.
- Of those 27 games, 18 are at home in Dodger Stadium.
- Of the nine away games, three are 'on the road' in Anaheim this weekend.
- The only two true road series they will play in this stretch were in Texas (Jun 12-14) with an off day for travel on each side of that series, and in the early part of this next week at the White Sox (Jun 23-25).
- Their road series starting July 3-5 is in San Diego, just down the highway in San Diego (about half the distance as when the Rangers travel to face the Astros or vice-versa).
