    Dodgers schedule
Was perusing through a few schedules last night and came to the conclusion that Joe Torre and his troops are in the middle of what has to be the easiest five weeks of a schedule that I've seen in a few years. Get this:
    • From June 1 through July 2, they will play 27 games in 32 days. Off days on June 8, June 11, June 15, June 22 and July 2.
    • Of those 27 games, 18 are at home in Dodger Stadium.
    • Of the nine away games, three are 'on the road' in Anaheim this weekend.
    • The only two true road series they will play in this stretch were in Texas (Jun 12-14) with an off day for travel on each side of that series, and in the early part of this next week at the White Sox (Jun 23-25).
    • Their road series starting July 3-5 is in San Diego, just down the highway in San Diego (about half the distance as when the Rangers travel to face the Astros or vice-versa).
So I wonder how it works this weekend for the Dodgers: Do they make their players stay in a hotel near the park in Anaheim and, if not, do they still have to pay the players the per diem like a normal road game? I believe a big league player draws something like $89 per day on the road.

Plus the feel good factor of saving $7M in salary on Manny when it's patently obvious they can win that division without him. Add to that a fresh Manny who's raring to go when he gets back, there really is no downside to the Dodgers at present.

    I beileve they're in a hotel Willie.

Just another reason to hate the Dodgers, favorable scheduling

There are no easy games in MLB. Tell that to the -330 losers of both Yankees games the last couple days.

Wasn't suggesting any of the games were easy, pavy. Just felt it was an easy schedule in terms of travel over about a five week span.

Point taken Willie. I was trying to warn the gamblers reading the post not to unload on juicy Dodger chalk lines next month because of the easy traveling schedule. Games are won on the field and not on paper.

Anyone that unloads on any huge chalk deserves what they get.
