    Florida Marlins in June
Yeah they're not the Rockies but here are some interesting stats:

The Marlins are currently ranked 2nd in runs (59) and OPS (.767) in the month of June in the NL.

Only the Rockies are better (big surprise).

The Marlins pitching staff ranks 10th in ERA (3.58) and 8th in OPS (.686)

Their starting rotation has a 3.67 ERA (8th) and the bullpen has a 3.89 ERA (13th). 8 of their bullpen runs have come thanks to Hayden Penn and Cristian Martinez, all other relievers combine for a 1.95 ERA.

    The more amazing thing?

Based off the Marlins periphirals, they're actually underperforming.

Based off the basic runs created (obp*slg*pa), we'd have 67 runs.

The Marlins rank first in FIP (3.25). Their startion rotation is first (3.08), and their BP is 5th in FIP (3.57).

Starting rotation back to form, offense back to form, bullpen still performing, Bonifacio looking like he's on his way out (Gaby Sanchez has been only playing at 3B at the farm). Things looking up.

As some of you know, after the mirage-too-good-to-be-true 11-1 start then the subsequent mountain of suck, the Marlins have had some value the last 2 weeks and will continue to do so in spots.

This thread is about the month of June but thank you for contributing virtually nothing.

yeah we have been playing well, even mr miller has pitched pretty good, to my amazement. sean west looks like he's legit and can serve as #4/5 on this team and when annibal comes back i would consider moving him into the pen and letting west continue to start until the wheels begin to fall off.

like you said, the staff has been really good in past few weeks and our pen has been pretty consistent, other than that blown game to the cards by nunez, who i still think should be the closer over lidstrom.

our bats have been great, especially hermedia, batting liek .580 in past 5 games, he's finally living up to all of the hype that has surrounded him since he came into the league. cody ross, who i have a love/hate relationship with, has been one of the best hitters on the team. and the most impressive part is we're doing this all with a not 100% hanley, and cantu who's been dizzy for liek week and a half thus far.

i hope we can keep this going, because once we get back to .500, hopefully within the next week, we can keep this train moving and hopefully pull into the all star break 5-10 games over .500, which is ENTIRELY possible. i think if we can hit the 90 win mark (YES WE DO HAVE SOME WORK STILL) we can certainly get into the playoffs, and given the topsy turvy east, 90 wins could possible clinch the division cause the nats/braves are garbage, phils are gonna have a dead armed pen after the AS break and the mets, well they're the mets and could win 20 games in a row or lose 20 in a row, all in all, i am not impressed with the east and i see it as wide open.
