Friday Night Umpire Report.
In the first game of a series the umpires are not posted until the lineups are out for the games. I have the umpires and wanted to share them for anyone that is interested. I have added interesting trends and notes. (these are just suggested leans for the umpires working, use it anyway you like.)
Atlanta @ Baltimore: Umpire is Mike Reilly
Reily has proven to not be a home team umpire and they have lost 8 of the 11 games that he has worked with the over coming in 8 times as well. When he works a game with a total of 10 the over is 5-1 in the last six games and that spans over the last three years.
Umpire Play: OVER 10
Detroit at Pittsburgh: Umpire is CB Bucknor
Bucknor love the home teams and they have won 10 out of 13 games that he has been behind the plate for this year. The total is even at 6 overs and 7 unders. Home teams are 32-15 in the last two years and home underdogs of +130 or less are 6-2 in the last two years.
Umpire Play: Pittsburgh
Boston @ Philladelphia: Umpire is Bill Miller
Bill Miller has even numbers across the boards with home teams at 5-7 in the games he has officiated and the O/U at 5/7. Looking closer at the total he has a big strike zone and leans under with a combined O/U record of 18/28 over the last two years. When he has worked a game with the total set at 9.5 the under is 7-2 in the last two years.
Umpire Play: UNDER 9.5
St. Louis @ Cleveland: Umpire is Tim Timmons
Tim is well known for an under run he went on years ago but these days he is even as home teams are 6-8 when he works and the O/U is 7-7. Interesting to note is that home underdogs are just 2-9 in the last two years.
Umpire Play: St. Louis
Mets @ Yankees Umpire is Fieldn Culbreth
Culbreth is has a very big strike zone and the under is 9-2 in the games that he has been a part of this year. Home teams are near even at 7-5.
Umpire Play: Under
