    My Picks
Well with hockey season winding down I need some new action. Let's see how I do.

    CIN vs WAS
    - Cinny is a solid road club and I like them to get it done with their Ace on the mound vs the lowly Nationals. Good low line on this one.

    CIN (-110)
1.1 units to win 1 unit

    SEA vs BAL
    - Good value in this game as Seattle sends their boy Vargas, a pretty good sleeper to the mound. Vargas has posted 5 straight quality starts with 2 ER or less. Bergesen gives up a lot of hits, and combine that with the fact the Orioles are really struggling right now.

SEA (+120) 1 unit to win 1.2 units

    LAA vs TB
    - Two studs on the mound today, it should be a low scoring affair.

    First 5 Under 4 (-105) 1.05 units to win 1 unit

    STL vs FLA
    - Big pitchers dual in this one. Cards have lost 4 straight, look for Carpenter to get them back on track in this one. Johnson has been lights out, but Carpenter has been just ridiculous. Tempted to bet the under 5 and the game, but the totals are just a bit low for me at 3.5 and 7 respectively.

STL (-115) 1.15 units to win 1 unit

    TOR vs TEX
    - Love the Jays in this spot with Tallet on the mound. He is a lot better than his numbers indicate. 8 of his 10 starts he has given up 3 ER or less. Mathis doesn't instill a lot of confidence for me with a career ERA over 6 and a WHIP over 2. Mind you this is a small sample for his numbers, but still.

    TOR (+105)
1 unit to win 1.05 units

    SF vs ARI
-Cain has been nasty this year and I like the Giants here as small road faves.

SF (-115) 1.15 units to win 1 unit

      SEA vs BAL
-Well Seattle let us down yesterday so all we can do is get back up on the horse. Love Seattle today with Hernandez on the mound and paying even money. Guthrie is who we thought he was so I'm going with the Mariners tonight.

SEA (+100) 1 unit to win 1 unit

      CIN vs WAS
-How is anyone 5-1 with a 5.31 ERA, a 1-1 K-BB ratio and have 33.3% of your team's wins after the first two months of the season? No clue, it boggles my mind. I like the Zombie faced Harang to take out the "Stud" of the Nationals.

      CIN (-115)
1.15 units to win 1 unit

      DET vs CWS
-Verlander has had 8 straight quality starts and is looking filthy lately. Danks has been a bit of a mess lately, not sure what exactly is wrong with him but I like the Tigers here just knowing that Verlander is likely to give up 3 or less runs, and I think Detroit can scratch out at least 5.

      DET (-135) 1.35 units to win 1

      CHC vs HOU
Two great pitchers on the mound tonight. Although Wandy has been rocked a bit lately I look for him to be motivated tonight and get into a great duel tonight with Big Z.

      First 5 Under 4.5 (-115)
1.15 units to win 1 unit

          Thur June 11th

          DET vs CWS
-Both teams are really struggling offensively in the last few weeks so I look for it to be a low scoring affair. Combine that with two hot pitchers as of late. Jackson has been stellar all year and Floyd is starting to round into form with 4 straight quality starts.

          First 5 Under 4.5 (-105) 1.05 units to win 1 unit

          PHI vs NYM
-None of these pitchers is winning a Cy Young in the near future, so needless to say I see this game being a high scoring affair. The Mets have knocked around Moyer twice already this year, and Redding's 6+ ERA is hardly inspiring.

          Over 9.5 (-110) 1.10 units to win 1 unit

          SF vs ARI
-Two light hitting teams combined with two streaky strikeout pitchers that have the ability to dominate games at times, and I like the under here.

              LAD vs TEX

I like the Dodgers here with Kuroda on the mound vs an inconsistent Padilla.

LAD (-110) 1.10 units to win 1 unit

              OAK vs SF
Lincecum on the mound at home with a decent price, can't pass up on that. Oakland's Mazarro looks like a good sleeper and could pull off the upset, but anytime you can get Lincecum at around -150 or lower you gotta take it.

SF (-155) 1.55 units to win 1 unit

              FLA vs TOR
Halladay on the mound for the Jays at home is usually a safe bet for the W. The price isn't great so I will get better value with the RL. Nolasco hasn't looked like the same pitcher he was last year, and the Jays are killing it at home this year.

TOR RL (-105) 1.05 units to win 1 unit

              NYM vs NYY

Good value here on the Mets that I can't pass up. These NY games are always intense rivalries and with Hernandez on the hill for the Mets there is a chance the Mets can take this one down vs Chubbs and the Yanks.

Absolutely sick after Castillo dropped that pop up to lose the game for the Mets. If not for that I would be up today, so sick.

                  CWS vs MIL
Contreras vs Parra and the battle of the 6+ ERA's. Both pitchers can be great or terrible and today I think they will be terrible.

                  Over 9.5 (+105) 1 unit to win 1.05 units

                  BOS vs PHI
I like the Phils today with Bastardo on the mound vs an overrated Dice K.

PHI (-115) 1.15 units to win 1 unit

                  SEA vs COL
Gotta ride the hot team until they lose. Bedard won't be starting, Morrow will instead for Seattle who has been streaky this year. Marquis for the Rockies has pitched pretty well.

COL (-115) 1.15 units to win 1 unit

                      NYM vs NYY
The Mets go for the sweep* in the subway series. I'll take the Mets as the dogs with Santana on the mound. Burnett has been roughed up lately and isn't lights out as often as Santana. I still foresee a good pitcher's battle today.

*sweep not official thanks to Luis Castillo and his sponsor Swiffer.

NYM (+110) 1.10 units to win 1 unit
                      First 5 Under 5 (-120) 1.2 units to win 1 unit

                      FLA vs TOR

This should definitely be a pitcher's dual today. Tallet has been the Jays most consistent starter apart from the Doctor lately and Josh Johnson needs no introduction.

                      First 5 Under 4.5 (-115)

                      CIN vs KC
I like the Reds to avoid the sweep with their ace Cueto on the mound. KC hasn't won 3 straight since May, so look for the Reds to get it done.

CIN (-115) 1.15 units to win 1 unit

                      MIN vs CHC
Cubs have lost 5 straight vs the Twins and I just can't see them being swept at home. Look for Lilly to be on his game today and end the streak.

CHC (-130) 1.3 units to win 1 unit

                      OAK vs SF

The Giants go for the sweep and throw their #2 stud to the mound vs a shaky Anderson. Look for the Giants to win their 5th straight vs the A's.

SF (-135) 1.35 units to win 1 unit

After going 1-5 on their homestand I like the Brewers to turn things around on the road. Bush is a more consistent pitcher than Pavano so I like the odds today. They are the better team and Cleveland is still hurting with some key players out.

                                        MIL vs CLE
I thought the Brewers were done twice yesterday down 8-3 and 12-8 but both times they rallied and took it down. With their ace Gallardo on the mound today vs a shaky and streaky Sowers I like the Brewers again tonight.

                                        Key Stats:

                                        HOU vs TEX

The battle of the lonestar state should be a beauty tonight with both team's #1 guys on the mound. Look for a low scoring affair.

                                        Key Stats:
-Under is 9-2-1 in HOU last 12 interleague games.
-Under is 36-15-1 in TEX last 52 overall.

                                        CWS vs CHC
Another cross town rivalry game with two solid pitchers goes down at Wrigley tonight. Zambrano has posted 7 straight quality starts and Danks has hopefully turned the corner and is back in form like he was last season.

                                        Key Stats:
-Under is 11-3-1 in CWS last 15 overall.
-Under is 22-8 in CHC last 30 overall.

First 5 Under (-120) 1.2 units to win 1 unit

                                        SEA vs SD
Both teams come in on 3 game losing streaks and I like the Mariners chances with King Felix on the mound. If you have watched King Felix lately you will know he is as hot a pitcher as there is in the league right now. He is 2-0 with a stingy 3 ER in his last 28 IP. Correia is a servicable guy for the Pads but he tends to give up too many walks and gets himself in trouble. Add that with the fact the Mariners have absolutely owned the Padres soul over the last few years and I love Seattle tonight.

                                        Key Stats:
SEA is 8-0 in the last 8 meeting in SD.
SEA is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings overall.

SEA (-135) 1.35 units to win 1 unit

Yeah it was not looking good. I quit watching the game after the 5th and had 1 run to give for the win, but I got it somehow

                                                CWS vs CHC
Okay well let's try this one again, hopefully the rain won't let us down again. Danks goes as scheduled yesterday, but it will be Ryan Dempster for the Cubbies today instead. Dempster has been on a roll and has given up just 1 ER in his last 20 IP. Danks has done in well in day games this year with an ERA of 3.18 and Dempster has a daytime ERA of 3.27. With the teams 27th and 24th respectively on the year with runs scored, look for this to be a low scoring one.

                                                Key Stats:
-Under is 11-2-1 in CWS last 15.
-Under is 22-8 in CHC last 30 overall.
-27th and 24th of 30 in overall runs scored.
-Low 3 ERA for both pitchers during the day.

                                                First 5 Under 4.5 (-115) 1.15 units to win 1 unit
                                                Under 8.5 (-110) 1.1 units to win 1 unit

                                                TB vs COL
The highest scoring team in the league hitting at Coors field? It sounds too good to be true. The Rays are on fire and now own the longest active winning streak at 6 after ending Colorado's at 11. Super prospect David Price has been lights out lately, mind you his control still isn't where it should be, but he has been pitching excellent. Cook is the Rock's best pitcher, but he really isn't overpowering and capable of totally dominating another team's offence, especially one as potent as the Rays.

                                                Key Stats

                                                    CWS vs CHC
Well this one should play out similarly to yesterday's game. Two pitchers on a roll face off as the 27th and 24th highest scoring teams in the league collide again at Wrigley. Floyd has been hot posting 5 straight quality starts (3 ER or less) and Zambrano continues to roll with 8 straight quality starts of his own.

                                                    Key Stats:

-27th and 24th in runs scored out of 30 teams.
-Combined 11 straight quality starts for the pitchers.
-Under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings.

                                                    First 5 Under 4.5 (-115)
1.15 units to win 1 unit
                                                    Under 8.5 (-110) 1.1 units to win 1 unit

                                                    TB vs COL
Well now that both team's respective winning streaks are over we can go back to normal capping. I like the Rays to get it done with Garza (Vanilla Ice) on the mound today.

                                                    Key Stats:
-TB 5th in AVG, 3rd in HRS. COL 16th in AVG, 9th in HRS.
-TB most SB in the league with 106, a crazy 38 ahead of 2nd place team, and 64 ahead of COL. (Significant because both pitchers tend to give up a fair amount of walks.)
-Garza 3.82 Road ERA, 3.88 Daytime ERA. Jimenez 4.28 Home ERA, 5.34 Daytime ERA.

TB (-105) 1.05 units to win 1 unit

                                                    NYM vs BAL
To me this is an automatic play with a decent veteran like Hernandez vs a wet behind the ears rook still trying to get comfortable pitching to major league hitters. The fact that the Mets are the dogs in this one I can't pass up.

                                                    Key Stats:
-4 of 5 of Livan's last 5 starts have been good.
-Berken 7.32 ERA, and 9 BB to 8 K ratio.
-Mets 3rd in SB, relevant to Berken's control issues.

NYM (+110) 1 unit to win 1.1 units

Well the Dodgers saved my ass from a disastrous day, but man I felt my results should have been way better. 0-0 through 5 in Chicago and the game over hits somehow. Then the Mets fcuk me again late in the bottom of the 9th. Very easily could have been a 3-1 day.

                                                          CLE vs CHC

Two solid pitchers on the mound today, as Lee faces off with Harden. Both pitchers are coming off good starts, so naturally I like the under. After seeing the Cubs rally last night I am definitely going to play the first 5 only, and also because Cleveland has the worst team ERA in the league.

                                                          Key Stats:
-Cleveland 3rd in strikeouts and the Cubbies 9th with two strikeout pitchers on the mound.
-Under is 8-2 in Lee's last 10 starts on grass.
-Under is 19-7 in CHC's last 26 overall.

                                                          First 5 Under 5 (-115) 1.15 units to win 1 unit

                                                          TOR vs WAS
Both teams coming off successful road trips, however let's be honest the Nationals are still the Nationals. They were probably pumped up and loved playing spoiler in one of baseball's most intense environments. Now they return home to their empty, unmotivated stadium to play the streaking Jays. Tallet got rocked last time, but he still has 7 quality starts in his last 10 so look for him to rebound against the Nationals inept offence.

                                                          Key Stats:
-Jays 14th best team ERA, Nationals 29th.
-Jays 2nd team AVG, Nationals 18th.
-Jays are 6-1 in last 7 meetings.

                                                          CWS vs CIN
The Whitesox have owned the Reds in interleague play over the years. Contreras has been on a roll his last few starts, but the guy still scares me. However I am going to believe he has fixed his control problems and finally figured his arm out. Arroyo is a yo yo and could pitch a 9 inning scoreless game or give up 8 ER.

                                                          Key Stats:

-CWS 9-0 in last 9 meetings.
-Contreras 1.37 ERA last 3 starts, Arroyo 6.23 ERA last 3.

CWS (-105) 1.05 units to win 1 unit

                                                          LAD vs LAA
Two top pitchers face off in lala land tonight and I look for this to be an extremely well pitched game. The Angels roughed up Billingsley a bit last game, but I think he will bounce back and pitch well tonight.

                                                          Key Stats:
-Billingsley pitches better on the road, 1.94 ERA this year on the road.

-Under is 12-4 in LAD's last 16 interleague games.
-Under is 11-5 in LAA's last 16 home games.
