Why would pro prospect play college aluminum bat baseball?Pros&cons of aluminum bats?
I live near a few Northwoods League teams comprised of college players that are pro prospects that may or may not have been drafted that didn't make the college playoffs. It's a wooden bat league and that's the attraction for these guys to play because I don't think they get paid because of NCAA rules.

So if college players that have pro careers think it's beneficial for them to show what they can do with a wooden bat,why do college teams still use aluminum bats?Cost saving?Hell, that has never been an issue with colleges finding ways to shovel money out the doors on any far fetched expenditure before.I'm sure pitchers would rather see wooden bats being used so they don't get decapitated before they have a chance to make it to the pros. You would think that with how high schools and colleges are always preaching about everything under the living sun as how to conduct risk free lives, they would do away with aluminum bats.

So if you were 18 and were a decent player that could jump right to class A rookie league in the pros using wooden bats, wouldn't you choose that route instead of going to college using aluminum bats.It makes no sense at all to me why a guy with a baseball future would pick the college route?
