As much as I dislike the Toronto Blue Jays, they are in a very good spot tonight.
Rick Porcello is having what they call a post Cy Young hangover season as opposing hitters are just abusing him, especially left handed bats.
Porcello's home run rate has doubled from last season to this season, (well almost doubled from 0.93 homers per nine innings to a homer rate of 1.65 per nine innings. That's a lot of long balls, I'm shocked that Porcello hasn't been put on the disabled list for whiplash tuning his neck watching fly balls sail over the fences.
And his hard hit ball ratio has gone up from 30.0 percent in 2016 to 40.1 percent in 2017, or simply put the saber nerds say every ball that is put in play off of Porcello 40 percent of them are hard hit balls.
Conversely (or on the flip side if you will) Toronto trots out a pretty nasty lefty in JA Happ.
Happ has pretty much owned every Red Sox hitter in tonight's line up through out his whole career.
Sox lifetime are 35 for 179 (.196) Sox own a pathetic .286 OBA off of Happ and have only hit six home runs in those 179 at bats, with the kicker being Pedroia has three of those six and he's on the shelf and one of the better left handed batters (Jackie Bradley Jr.) is also on the shelf.
Just noticed some weird line movement in this game, line was Toronto -109 at 5:00, it's almost 6:00 now line jumped from -109 to +110, then 2 seconds ago was at +114 where it seems to be where it wants to settled.
I think I know the reason why for that almost 25 cent big line move, no Donaladson in the lineup, but I thought that was common knowledge, and Toronto isn't really going to war with their 'A' team offense tonight.
No matter, line movements like that don't phase me anymore if I think I know the reason.
Happ and the Blue Jays, even with their 'B' team bats in there is still my best bet of the night.
I got 100 real dollars to win 109 (it's +114 right now)
And the important part is I got 100 betpoints to win 109 betpoints in the sports book here, if it's a winner, all winnings will go to the Cure Angelman Drive.
For those not familiar with it, here's the link, give if you have it, if you don't not a problem at all.
