You haven't been paying attention. I have said several times Samardzija is one of my favorite pitchers to bet on, one of the biggest if not THE biggest positive ERA - xFIP variances in baseball. I MIGHT add Giants later, we will see.

This one of those instances when you gotta look away from the chart. There no way nats win this game 74% of the time.

For some time before I had the chance to see urena pitch I tended to tentatively believe his metrics which as you point to speak of a pitcher outperforming his peripherals. After getting a chance to watch him a few times I'm of the belief he like many others just one those guys that gonna do that for majority of careers. He might not be as smart a pitcher as most the profile but he has better stuff than lot of guys in this club.

The reason why I value advanced stats but don't think they the be all end all, you guys tend to see everything as black and white but the world gray my brother

Talk to me bout lance lynn, metrics typically hate him and dude been a rock solid sub 4 era pitcher his whole career. Surely you don't still grade him out as due to regress? I know some die hard do and when Lynn ages few more years and starts getting hit more they will be there to say "see, I told you he would regress!", lol..
