    Goldschmidt...Arizona fans, anyone help?
Does Goldschmidt ever do anything CLUTCH ? His 6th full year in the majors, yes he's a great player, Gold Glove, Slugger awards, but other than a gifted athlete does he really care about winning? Becoming a champ? This 'Zona team might be formidable, but despite the major media reminding us from time to time, "If Goldy played in the big market cities, everyone would talk about him..."

I mean just doesn't come up big when you hope he would. I'm sure he's a good citizen and who wouldn't want to be him, but appears to care more about getting a good night's sleep and making all his dental appointments than becoming a champ.

Agree / Disagree? Am I missing something?

disagree without looking at any situational stats or watching many dbacks games

guy puts up ridiculous numbers year after year

I'd blame the Dbacks pitching and stadium instead of a perennial all star

What more can a guy do to help his team win other than being a great player?

Fair enough but guess I'm not able to name a Leader on this team, if its not Goldy. People lead by example, and then there are people leaders. Two different things.

Ok but what have you read/heard about him to suggest he isn't a leader? I honestly have no clue but I've never heard anything negative about him so have to wonder where this coming from ?

You are clearly basing your opinion of last night.. Ive bet against the Dbacks a ton this year and he always comes through for them and penetrates me in bets constantly.. this thread is complete stupidity of someone who is bitter they lost a bet last night (i took zona last night too, they had no business winning that game)

Really looking for example of how he's been clutch in a meaningful situation, not a simple mid-season game where he hits 3 homers to beat the Cubs, hell Scooter Gennett has him topped in that category. I'll refrain from making any more reply, but would like to read about it if anyone care to give examples about Goldy in a clutch moment. My mind is open.

I've posted ALL of my plays in a thread for the past week or so, if you need any fade material have at it.

Ok but it isn't on him that his team hasn't really played in meaningful games before this season. Nobody gonna argue that trout a great player and halo's have stunk since he been in the league.

Doesn't matter how great a player is one guy has very little impact on whether or not his team playing meaningful baseball at the end of the season.

Zona fan here. You seem to be asking an impossible question. You want an example of a "meaningful situation" where he has been clutch, but dismiss one that happened in the past week or so.

The reality is that he DBacks have had very few "meaningful" games in Goldy's tenure. These guys are learning as they go. Goldy is not a vocal leader by any stretch. David Peralta is the guy hat fills that role on this team.

If you want to find blame blame for their post All Star swoon, look at Pollock and Lamb (to a lesser degree). Brandon Drury has also fallen off a cliff (and the Chris Owings injury really hurt). Goldy is not the problem.

My suggestion is is to steer clear of this team until they show signs of recapturing their first half form.
