Two Starting Pitchers with nasty stuff on a chilly night at Fenway. Both Sale and Taillon have never faced the other team and should be able to put up a lot of K's. Yes I am aware that HPU Nauert's last eight games have gone OVER the Total but Runs will be at a premium tonight.

Weather Thursday 4/6 not looking good at all for Fenway Boston. The bad weather that postponed both Chicago and St Louis games yesterday could also spoil this early afternoon game.

Red Sox start the first of a four game series at Detroit with all four games scheduled for the afternoons. This allows the schedule makers to look sharp because we are dealing with 45 degree weather and gusty winds blowing out today in Detroit.

A quick check of the line-ups show Boston very thin. Hanley Ramirez & Mookie Betts & Robby Ross fighting off the Flu and Bogaerts & Barnes on Bereavement Leave.

Tigers bats were silent yesterday and you might expect them to be quiet again today against the knuckleballer Wright. I never liked betting with a knuckleball starter. Wakefield used to keep me on edge the entire game. Also surprised to see Sandy Leon catching today (thought Vasquez might be in there) but I guess the guy is red hot and you have to have his bat.

Tigers were 19-7 last year when the ROY Fulmer started so I'm not going to buck that trend on Detroit's Opening Day.

Took a day off yesterday. You will see me post about 30 minutes to about an hour before game time if I have a play. Otherwise I will not bump my own Thread. There is enough garbage in this Forum.

Red Sox still without Hanley Ramirez (flu) so Chris Young will DH today. Bogaerts on Bereavement leave and will be lost until Monday. No worries here as Hernandez quite capable at SS. Selsky also manning CF for Jackie Bradley Jr. Bottom line is you get Porcello at a sweet line.

Gusty winds coming in from Right Field and crossing over to Left Field. As long as Norris keeps his end of the bargain this game very likely stays UNDER the 8.

Gusty crosswinds today from RF to LF in Detroit. As I told you yesterday Hernandez can handle SS just like CF poses no problem for Benintendi today. I do worry about the BoSox bullpen with both Barnes and Kimbrel spent yesterday and Sale firing 103 pitches on Opening Day.

Pirates coming into town for a make-up game and Eduardo Rodriguez finally healthy and without the meddling manager Farrell to skrwel up his schedule. Red Sox bullpen slacks wasted yesterday and the bullpen steadys ready and at alert. This is a very cheap price but that doesn't matter as the Red Sox win this one running away.
