I will always show a projected game score, but I won't always bet the total. In this case, I did not bet the total because the umpire's O/U record was 2-4. Therefore, I felt the Reds ML was a stronger bet. If I am betting a total, I will say so. In this case, I didn't.

Hey Machine I was just looking over your thread and I have a question for you. Sometimes you do plays where you say -1, like on April 27 you had Ari -1 and Cle -1. Is -1 a shorthand way of saying -1 1/2 on the run line?

I'm pretty sure it means a combination bet of ML and RL favs together that will equate to -1 odds. So if bet fav wins by 1, it's a push. There was a calculator for this I found once online but once you know how it's really easy to do.

Works in reverse also with +1 odds on dogs. Dogs lose by 1 is a push.

Yes, it's a combination of RL and ML to create a -1 line. I call it a "half runline" and these plays are reflected in my record. I am 7-3 on -1 plays. If they push, I don't grade them into the record.

It's a good strategy to create a -1 line yourself if your book doesn't offer it, so that you can bet on a heavy fave without paying the high juice.
