Yankees should have kept Joe Torre

Well they were stagnant with Torre, lets not forget Torre only doing ok in LA because of Manny. Without him they are just an average team. Torre only won in NY because they bought the titles. Back in the day he was one of the worst managers of all times.

Yeah, do not get too pursuaded on Torre, the guy has had Manny Ramirez in LA.

I agree though...... I would pick him over Joe Girardi any day of the week.

I love how when the Yankees win a World Series, they bought the title, yet when they don't win the World Series it proves you can't buy a title

I've always been a Torre fan, and I've just thought he was tired of putting up with the bullshit in NY and sorta' wrote his own ticket out of town. Nothing against Girardi, but I don't think he has the same knack for dealing with BOTH the players and front office that Torre had.

GO back and look at the numbers. The yankees payroll wasn't that high in 96 98-00. Other teams had higher payrolls

Torre was the worst manager of all times in St Louis, lets never forget that and he was because he had bad players. Great players make the managers look good.

Yep its all about great players making the mangaer look good becasue the Devil Rays of last year bought there whole team right??? And its not like they didn't manufacture runs in key situations to make it to the world series i'm just saying i dont agree with the fact that its all the players its like looking at the Detroit Pistons when they went on the championship run or the new england patriots coaching is very important they are the ones who keep everybody under control and in line when times get rough, yes talent is important but you can't buy great team chemistry and that is what wins championships!!

And go ahead call me out on what ever its fine this is just my opinion!

They would have did just as well with Torre. He did great with a Dodger team not nearly as talented as NY. At least I think he would have been here as well. We'll never know.

they didn't have the pitching before... now they do. end of story
