The Reds haven't been solid at home and struggle against lefties. Hamels has been almost unhittable against the Reds in his career and has shown he's back. I love Cueto but with the hot Phils coming into town, he could be on his game and still give up 4+ runs today against a team that's 12-4 on the road.

COL Rockies @ ATL Braves
Hammel vs Jurjjens
COL/ATL under 8.5 +114 --- 1.5 units

The Rockies are hitting .230 against righties in their last 5 games averaging 4.19 runs while the Braves are hitting .229 in their last 5 with an average of 1.82 runs. Jurjjens has been solid this season with 7 of his 8 starts going under 8.5 runs. Hammel is more of a guessing game but with the Braves struggling against righties, I like my chances here...especially with an under ump in Carlson.

I love this match up for my Cubs. Lilly has dominated the Cardinals in the past...and my hometown Cardinals are on a slide. When the Cardinals hit a slide, jump on board because they're prone to lose 7+ in a row when things are slipping. The Cards are hitting just .167, averaging just 2.08 runs against lefties in their last 5 games. The Cubs are hitting right handers pretty well right now, averaging 7.38 runs against righty starters. The trends all favor the Cubs tonight as well...let's cash this one.

Maine vs Billingsley

Billingsley has done very well against the Mets in his career and has started the season throwing very solid. I don't believe in John Maine and feel his lack of control and over-rated stuff will catch up to him...hopefully tonight as the Dodgers, who dominate at home, look to take game 1 of this series. There are solid trends on both sides here but I like the Dodgers much more.

This was my first play of the day, and I thought I had it posted but apparently didn't. I would have a better write up if all of the stats/trends were fresh. Oh well. The Sox can't hit and Baker has looked better in his recent outings. Buerhle has had the best start of his career and I expect it to continue against a bad road team in the Twins.

I liked it enough to go with 2.5 units...though I should have waited for the ump to be released. That probably would have been a good choice. I like the trends here. There are some that look a little disturbing when you look at Baker, but I think he's figuring it out and I expect him to be yet another starter to hold down the Sox offense...but not enough for a win. I really think the Sox and Buerhle win this one...and that's one of the games I like but have yet to play.
