                          I have a theory about this.

                          In the past, teams would still play for pride and embrace the role of the spoiler, even if they were completely out of the pennant chase.

                          Now, given how much money these cats make, the losing teams start mailing it in a lot sooner. If you're making $20 million per guaranteed on a last-place team, your give-a-f\*\*k swtich would be off permanently by now.

                            I'm completely on board with you here NC. If I made bank and was on the last leg of work, and all I had to do was show up....I would do just that. Show up.

                                Not 80% but I would feel really comfortable saying 65%. A guy I know was blindly throwing together 4 or 5 team parlays with all favorites and different favorites in each parlay and was cashing 3-4 nights every week. He did this for all of August and September the last two years.
