I have been tailing for the most part and the majority of his plays that he kills the closing number have lost...He would never track that though because it would defeat the point of his model

100% FALSE, that is the same thing as saying the line you get does not matter. That is just ludicrous in nature, especially in an efficient market. Unless you believe MLB is an inefficient market, which is equally absurd. Even if the games where you SMASH the closing line do have a losing record in the short term, consider that you still "win" by losing less on those plays by getting the better price. I think I did have a losing record on games where I beat the closer by 30+ points less year, but limiting the damage by getting good lines on the losers contributed to the +93 season.

So I guess what I am saying is that getting good lines ALWAYS matters ever when you have a losing record.

Precisely why volume goes down in September, I have to be doubly careful with lineups. And when in doubt, pass regardless of model variance.
