On the same line of thinking as the TOR game, I'm going with another minus money run line:

FLA Marlins @ CHC Cubs
Taylor vs Harden
CHC Cubs -1.5 -116 --- 2 units

The Cubs are looking to break out of their slide and should do so with ease against a young pitcher with little potential in Graham Taylor. I think Harden has a nice day of K's while the Cub's lineup shows some life.

Weaver vs Pettitte
ANA ML +140 --- 2 units

Weaver has been throwing well and the Angels are really starting to hit left handers in the last week. The Yankees are over-rated and always have an inflated line...one that I like to fade.

No play on the TB/BOS game. I figured I'd post about any games I cap. The Sox haven't been hitting lefties well at all in their last 10 games. The Rays dominate at home. Hirschbeck is 7-1 for the home team in his last 8 games. At least a handful of reasons make me hesitant to go with the Sox here. I'd go with the home dog in the Rays but hate going against team's that get killed the night before.

Wellemeyer vs Zimmerman
WAS first 5 inn ML -118 --- 1.5 units

The Cards are hot but I've seen Zimmerman's two starts and I was very impressed. Wellemeyer is far from solid and should get hit today. The public is on the Cardinals heavy today but the line has moved in favor of Washington.

I just changed my WAS bet from straight ML to 5 inning ML. Since I'm at matchbook, it's very easy. I hate the Nationals bullpen..

Cubs RL at -130 is a bit steep. I think they cover the spread today, so money is money but thats some steep chaulk.

Arizona can't hit lefties, or can't currently which would make it a decent bet especially with the way they've been playing. I don't trust Garland at all either. It's a no play for me today...I don't like the -140. If it were closer to -117 to -121, I would have made a small play but -140 is way too steep for Manny Parra.

SEA -105 --- 1 unit

Silva has solid career number against the A's...who don't currently have hot bats. Seattle is crushing left handed pitching and I'm not sold on Eveland and his skill set...and love his 2+ WHIP.

Arroyo vs Duke
CIN/PIT under 8.5 -110 --- 1.5 units

The Reds aren't putting up runs and haven't for awhile. They are struggling against lefties, and Duke has been solid. Arroyo has had a solid career against the Pirates and with them missing both Doumit and McClouth, he should have a good day.

Going against my initial lean...I threw down a unit on the Fish +250, as no one is worth -275.

I also tailed CK on a few: SF under, Twinks -1.5, SD ML.

I took NYM ML too.

I took a flyer on FLA ML & NYM -1.5, 1 unit pays +775.

I won't say it's a bad bet. I do the same 90% of the time but I love the Cubs today. The Fish are a young team with a strong tendency to strike out...and Harden is one of the top 3 strike out pitchers in the game. Graham Taylor won't cut it today. He was shelled in his last outing and I think he fairs the same today. Good luck either way...got to love afternoon games while at work.

* I play very small on these and do it just for fun. I hit 3 last year betting 1 unit to win 30 or more which is always exciting. I keep track of how these do just for S & G's.

I've been a follower of Slowey as I think he's under-rated. Ponson is terrible...though hasn't looked as bad as he should. The Metrodome is one of the biggest home advantages in baseball. I expect a good game out of the Twins tonight.

I don't like laying this much chaulk on a team but am confident in this matchup today...a logner write up is possible when I get more time.

Was not impressed with Taylor last time out. Soft tossing lefty with mid to upper 80's velocity. Reminds me more of Chuck James than Jamie Moyer.

Like Jello, I'm on the Cubbies with you RL also..Also have the under 8.5 in the Cincy/Pitty game. Arroyo keeping them in check is the key in that one. Reds hitters struggle mightily to produce against lefties. GL on your picks!

Looks like we are all 3 in trouble on that 1st play of the day. It was very small wager for me, and part of me hopes the Marlins do win just to punish whatever MORONS are out there laying -290 on a below .500 team in May.
