Having watched some of his picks he might be the savior for those who tail day in and day out. No one else has come close over the amount of picks he has made to be anywhere near his win total/%. For those who tail, I don't...but for the ones looking for a way out of the hole they got buried in by others...this guy might be able to help get you out of that hole... GL for those that have overbet, chased, tailed others unsuccessfully and are degenerate action junky losers... G.

#3With due respect to dfoster, who does make really quality picks, Machine is still machine and he is just getting warm. Its a long season and I guarantee he comes out profitable. He is still worth tailing if one is the tailing type.Comment -

#4yes...there are always some that like to tail... Or those that just need action...looks like this like might be the cure for their sickness, degenerate, compulsive behavior... Nice job up to now Foster...lets see if you can keep it up.

Good point... also maybe some that make enough picks that are winning should step up...and I don't mean the newbies that post after the games! My action is extremely limited, 6-3 whole year, but I like seeing the winners that can pick day in and day out... They are so rare!

#6Why do you have to be so derisive? It seems like almost every one of your posts is a backhanded attempt to demoralize those who play with a different style than your 2-7 games a week.Originally posted by G's pksyes...there are always some that like to tail... It is a joke...like ha ha... A little dry on the sense of humor for a gambler!

#12OK. I've just noticed it as a recurring theme in your posts. You seem to joke a lot about the "degenerates" who tail people and want a lot of action. If those are all just harmless jokes, then I sincerely apologize. Trust me, no one who knows me has ever questioned my sense of humor before. Unless it was to say I don't take things seriously enough.Originally posted by G's pksIt is a joke...like ha ha... A little dry on the sense of humor for a gambler!

I only bet a few games a week for a reason... I would overbet like many and the juice alone would eat me alive... I went through that before years ago... Very hard for me not to add a game after a loss... But I only really chased maybe once all year...and luckily won... Not the easiest thing to do... And for a young kid like Bobby impossible! So it is all a mind game to me thinking...oh you have to make it up tonight... When in reality, there is always another game tomorrow.
The other one that I have learned to avoid is the "big game".
Where people think they have to make or break their bankroll..
I just treat all the games the same, because there is always another game tomorrow.Comment -

#14Yeah. I'm trying to work on my discipline right now. It's very hard for me to limit myself to a play or 3 a day even. I've been betting sports for a while, but just started taking it seriously. I do fine with selections, just play way way too many games to be rewarded for the plays that end up right.Originally posted by G's pksYes honestly its a joke..gamblers gamble... kind of a joke...what would be the point otherwise...

#15I dont think there is anything wrong, systematically speaking, with betting a large number of games in baseball. I have used a "shotgun" approach with money management for 4 years now and came out profitable in 3 of those years. I am not saying it works for everyone, especially if someone likes to chase or are just an action junkie, but if you use money management I find it works pretty well, especially if you are betting alot of dogs (which every baseball bettor should be doing anyways).Comment -

#16Vonnegut, what kind of money management system do you employ? I was thinking about my last post and debating whether I even strongly agree with what I said myself.... because of your transient point. In baseball at least, you aren't necessarily paying the juice. I've started to evolve my pattern of betting from playing and parlaying favorites to selecting only -130 or better, and often dogs. It's working well for me so far. It also helps keep the number of wagers reasonable. The money management is what I'm trying to develop now. Been discussing it with Pair of 5s today. Would love any additional input from those that have had success.Comment -

#17If you can take a loss and not force a late bet win or lose...you are winning... Why? Because if you really liked the forced/chase bet you would of bet it in the first place...Originally posted by jellobiafraYeah. I'm trying to work on my discipline right now. #18Good point but you still have to pick the right dogs to bet on! Also imagine being a guy like Dac that loses every bet except the ones he pretends to place when the games are already over!Originally posted by VonnegutI dont think there is anything wrong, systematically speaking, with betting a large number of games in baseball. Betting a ton of games for him would be an even bigger mess... To bet a lot of games you have to win in area of 55%...
A guy like Bobby just makes bet after bet after bet all day long... The odds turn against him very quickly because he is not capping well to start with. Then he went to the track today and blew a quick hundred..no discipline...he is just burning$$$....Comment -

#19Well, per this discussion I went ahead and booked my 2 baseball plays for later - MIN RR/L w/ M/L hedge and PIT +110. I'm sitting on the CHC right now. Won a heavy bet on DEN earlier so these two later bets are all with the winnings from that wager. If I can have the discipline to stick to these only, I'm guaranteed no worse than breaking even. But I'm still looking to improve my money management. Yes, I won the heavy bet but I don't know if it was the right call or not - betting 3x my normal amount on one game.Comment -

Whatever my baseball roll is for the season, I divide it by 120 and those are my units.
If my starting roll is 3600, my units will be $30 each. (my actual units are in this vicinity).
I only bet one unit per game. I usually bet on about about 500 games over the course of a season, about 100 a month.
I have experimented a bit with the type of chase system that MachineChoice uses but didnt find very much success with it because of my type of betting. I take alot of reverse RL's if I see value. If I can hit 40-45% I am usually profitable.Comment -
