    22!?!?

It ended up even 11 bad calls both ways. Bad calls against Cubs seemed costlier, but it wasn't the bias it appeared, it was just bad.

And furthermore, it wasn't consistently off. The charts show a pitch called a ball or strike in one instance was different in another.

    How is this acceptable?

The umpiring has been horrid in the playoffs. I'm starting to move in favor of a computerized call. Maybe let the umpire stand there, but have a computer tell him whether it's a ball or strike. It should be just about instantaneous.

Are you illiterate? It has nothing to do with the Cubs. Calls have been horrid in all directions throughout the playoffs. And probably regular season with less attention paid. I see no reason not to use the technology available to get it right.

as crew chief does he set the ump rotation, who gets home plate?

if so him aligning himself with cubs at home is questionable

while the cubs lost this game by mistakes, him being the second worse ump for the home team (12-21) this years raise eyebrows

Just remove the homer glasses and you'll see things much clearer.

I don't need to see anything clearer. I'm basing this on pitch trax. The evidence says that the home plate umps have been horrible. It detracts from the game. The trend is toward changing rules toward getting it right. And why the hell not. We should be talking about the players, not the umps.

I am assuming you disagree with such a change. You're entitled to disagree. I won't attack you for it.
