when you get blown out in back2back games like they did, you're just not mentally strong.

To be sure, Royals are good cash source, but they did let the go ahead run get to the plate in the 9th tonight...

Royals will be fine. Cards have been due for a regression for a loooong time now. They've been playing so above anything possible it's insane.

I can't speak for the Royals, but I follow the Cards very closely and I'm very worried. Myself and all my friends have been joking all year about how we've won this many games. It's not at all sustainable. Insane ERA, winning a ton of 1-run games, it's not going to continue. We're a great team, a top 10 team in the MLB, but honestly we shouldn't be top 5. We're like a #7 team.

Pirates or Cubs should be ahead of us, and in the next few weeks the race is going to get close. It's probably going to be one of the best pennant races in recent memory. And because we're all in the same division, it's going to be insane. It could honestly come down to the last weekend, that would be awesome.

But my only point is that yes, Cardinals are... "overrated" is not the right word, but outperforming. Our franchise and our fanbase knows it, and we are all holding our breath. That sounds crazy being the #1 team in the MLB by a significant margin, but yeah we are overachieving. Our pitchers are great, our fielding is decent, and our batting is decent. Overall that's a pretty good team, not a #1 in the MLB team. Good for us, but this is a long-winded way of agreeing with the original thread title. The Cardinals are overrated, and we will come back to earth. We will make the playoffs, and possibly win the world series if the cards fall our way during that time. But we are really over-acheiving and I'd be very wary betting us, I've started to ease off.... We're a great team, a team that will win more than 55% of our games here on out. But with the juice the Cards carry ever night, and our inevitable fall back to earth (at least until Holliday, Adams, and Wainwright come back, none of whom are close to a return) I would back off Cards.

Long post, sorry, pretty drunk, I just wanted to say as a die-hard Cards fan and discussing with many other very seirous Cards fans we've all had the notion that we are way over-performing. We're a great team, but not the #1 team in the MLB. Cards will probably fall a bit in the coming weeks, don't ride them hard. That's all.

That all being said... Go Cards! Get the 12th Franchise Championship.

Pretty sure I get it...the 2 squads with best records in mlb one of whom has been model of consistency for years and missing one of their best bats a good chunk of season. Go on road face inferior but decent opponents 1 of whom is on fire and crushing the baseball (Sox) you lose a couple games and your frauds who have been exposed. Thank you OP for letting us know sbr needs more sharp insight from posters like this guy.

                                nobody exposed more than them.

At home, vs. a LAST PLACE Cleveland team...

                                went 1-3 in 4 games.

Yanks lost Division lead to Toronto, who swept the Angels on the road.

Yanks and Doyers records definitely more fraudulent than either Mizzou team no question Ratzz record wise or "contender" talk goes! Yanks weren't expected to make playoffs this year according to books so maybe they overachieved a bit most season. OP just seems to make threads out of frustration I believe as a losing gambler. Yesterday he was hacking on Rangers for being shut down by a crap pitcher after 2 sets lol. Pretty sure he just went strong and laid chalk in early games of Stl/Kc series and lost his ass. Frustration thread nothing more cause there's no logic behind it.

Set is just slang talk my boy. You play 162 games in mlb so losing 2 straight especially on road no matter the score is nothing. I did well in these series myself 1-0 with Sox gm 1, 1-0 with Diego gm 1, hit a 2t par today with Wash/Stl. If you did your homework you would have seen things differently in these series. Sox been red hot on offense and Kc bit of a letdown spot after sweeping Reds, and usually struggle at Fenway.

Stl again coming off a grueling series vs a contender then head way out west to face a team that's played them well and face 2 pitchers who are strong at home. Either way you overreacted on impulse KC split series, Cards lost 2-1 who cares? Holds zero bearing on either being exposed or frauds. Trust me I've probably forgot more about bases than you will ever know but thanks for playing

"Got caught" not using "proper" terminology for innings in bases. Jeez I been around awhile and got some street cred here. Who are you??

Yanks weren't expected to make playoffs this year according to books so maybe they overachieved a bit most season. OP just seems to make threads out of frustration I believe as a losing gambler. Yesterday he was hacking on Rangers for being shut down by a crap pitcher after 2 sets lol. Pretty sure he just went strong and laid chalk in early games of Stl/Kc series and lost his ass. Frustration thread nothing more cause there's no logic behind it.
i concur with this assessment.. i think spot on,

The thread demonstrates the tell-tale lost-logic of the venting (and losing) gambler.
Why else would these rather common circumstances disturb so much?

Cards and Royals have been playing like bottom feeders lately. Cards lost 4 of 5 at home and the Royals lost 4 straight at home.
