Who says he's an elite pitcher.
His K ratio is eye popping 11 K's per 9 innings.
His WH/IP is 1.002, top 5.

Looking good. I like Texas as well. Archer is tough. But I did notice a weakness of his. When he gets a little "rattled", either by the ump, a few hits, the coach coming out etc., he has a tendency to start to falter. Let's hope he gets rattled tonight. BOL Larry.

yup, mentally weak. Stevenash posting his WHIP like its the end all be all of pitching and incorrectly assuming I bet on the Rays don't change this. It's actually sad how people like stevenash just watch boxscores and not the games themselves and then hide behind extremely basic stats

Brady I see it from your perspective the eye test never lies and #'s do lie or at least skewed at times. Archer still a very talented reliable pitcher though for most part as Nasher stated those #'s are impressive. Everyone has their nights though look at King Felix yesterday for ex. That's twice this season one of the best in the gm (King F) and a Cy winner has been absolutely demolished and run out of a gm early. Let's not kid ourselves though and act like this kid is a bum I have backed him several times this season and ultimately would rather back him than fade for most part.

i wouldnt say mentally fragile but i hate betting on the Rays b/c offense is so unpredictable.

Nope, WH/IP is not the be all/end all, wOBA is the be all end all.
WH/IP is an excellent barometer however.
