Season

Essentially, the season after 25 selections has yielded even. Some of you have asked me the methodoly of selections. Here is some of what I consider.

My plays are contrarian in nature. I have had much success in the financial markets, using contrarian plays. These are some of the factors considered that lead up to the selection.

What information does the public see, that makes the line, ie. ERA, streaks, and standings. This information for the novice players is overrated.

Does the line make sense, particularly on the favorite. Oftentimes, the public will use the above, overrated information to pound the favorite. They see the information, and move the line accordingly to no success.

Head to head records, where the line is lower than expected, for the dominating team.

There are several other triggers but I won't bore you.

Contrarian Radar

We put the Tigers on the contrarian radar in the early. The White Sox are on the 3 streak with Danks on the mound. Danks was involved in an impressive start last outing with a no decision. Square money will be coming in on Chisox after yesterday's win on the road. Look Detroit's way. I will be reporting back to you as gametime approaches. The line should move favorably for the dog.

I am on the under. Chilly, wet and a little windy in DET. Danks has had success shutting down the Tigers bats (Granderson 0-12, Thames 0-11, Polanco 4-18, Cabrera 3-10 but 0HR or RBI....Ordonez has rocked him though 10-17).

I like the pick of DET to win. I think Porcello is in a nice spot here to pick up his 1st ML victory. The kid is going to be an ace in this league. Mid 90's 4 seamer, heavy moving 2 seamer, curvebal, slider, changeup. 5 pitches he can throw effectively already with a ++ fastball and good sinking action. I'm sensing a 3-1 or 4-2 type of game here. Hope it's Detroit with the bigger number. GL.

I like to play strong rookie pitchers that other teams have not faced before. Major League batters are so advanced in their approach against pitchers they can pick out tells. Having not faced him yet, he holds the upper hand. Porcello is a very talented pitcher and should be past the first game jitters. See it as a tossup with Danks on the hill as well. Give Tigers the homefield edge coupled with +120 odds.

Tough one on the Yankees. I was on the under. I have been sliced and diced the past week in baseball. I'm starting to feel cursed. Tomorrow is another day, though. I know one thing. I'm staying the **** away from this board for a while. It's costing me too much money.

It's Official

The Twins pull out a victory in extra frames as we make our load up play for the night. You would of expected Toronto to take money but Minnie was getting punched at the window demonstrating contrarian indicators that are sometimes overlooked.
