    MLB Leans ~ Saturday 4/11/09
A lot of good looking games out there for Saturday.

    HOU @ STL (-131), OVER 7.5
    - Adam Wainwright is 5-0 in his career vs HOU, and went 7-1 at home last year. Not the most solid spring, but he was good in his first start, despite getting the ND.

    TOR (-123) @ CLE
    - Cliff Lee has had a rough time so far this year, getting beaten up badly in the spring and then again in his first start against TEX. He's 1-3 in his career vs TOR, and the Jays bats are starting off the season hot. Halladay on the other hand looked very much in control in his first start, and I think he'll dominate the Indians tomorrow.

Gonna give this another try after Cubs let me down today....

Oak vs Sea ML (5 innings)

King Felix has pitched great against Oak in his career, only 7-4 against them, but the ERA is a very good 2.56 in 81 innings. Sea offense has been ok so far scoring atleast 5 runs in 5 of the 6 games, and this time going up against a inexperienced and not that good pitcher in Josh Outman, I think they can score a few runs early while Felix shuts down the Oak lineup. I know they talked about his ankle injury, but he got that in the first inning of that game and it didn't stop him from shutting down the Twins for the rest of the game.

carlos zambrano came out sharp in game 1, and i love backing aces when their team is off a loss. Big Z was dominant last year in milw shutting out the brewers for 8 inn. he has a career 3.68/1.22 era/whip vs milw. dave bush got roughed up for 6er in 7inn last year in his home start vs the cubs. his team is 1-10 over his career in games started vs the cubs.

              -cubs -130 (big - 2x)

the phillies are 6-0 in games started by brett myers vs the rockies (5-0 at coors). myers has a career 3.38/1.28 vs col while delarosa has a career 11.58/2.28 in 2 starts vs the phils. i like myers to get the phils back on track in this spot.

Alright I'm going to give my thoughts on one as well. I've only focused on one early game - the TOR/CLE matchup.

I really like the under 8 in this one. Lee and Halladay both got bounced around a little 1st time out. Well, Lee got bounced around a lot. Doc was strong until the later innings. It's going to be chilly in Cleveland today. It's an early game. I like these two factors right off the bat (pardon the pun) when thinking under.

Cleveland is DESPERATE for a win today and they have their unquestioned ACE going. Their stopper. Lee performed really well against TOR last season. He should be supremely motivated, determined and focused after getting hammered his 1st start and with his team needing him to perform so badly.

As for the Jays, well Doc is Doc. Yes, he's stronger as the season goes and April is not his best month. But he's still Doc freaking Halladay and he's capable of going 9 scoreless on any given day. I think he will be very sharp, realizing that he must be so facing a team desperate to scratch out a win any way they can. I think Doc is going to be motivated as well. He's got a little bit of red ass in him and this is a big early season matchup against the Cy Young from last season. A Cy Young trophy he could have just as easily won.

I don't think motivation is going to be a problem for either of these aces.

                TOR/CLE under 8

I also like Cleveland to win at plus odds as well. Again, it's getting to the point early where they need to get a win on the board. I think Lee is going to be dominant and Cleveland will find a way to scrap out a few runs against Roy. I'm going to lock that one in too.

                CLE +110

Hey guys.......call me crazy, but I would think the Bobbies would be the call in that CHI game. CHA has lost 4 in a row ATS and they have only lost 4 in a row ATS one other time this year....and they won that next game ATS.

An obvious pick to me seems to be ORL -6 against the Nets. Nobody is talking about that one either.

Also digging the GS/UTAH Under......Utah has gone Over for 7 straight games.......that just can't continue.

                                              Thoughts?

Saunders has also looked great so far in the spring and his first start, while Penny appears to be healthy (finally). Also, with the exception of Youklis, the BOS bats are cold as ice to start off the year. Good opportunity for the RunLine to cash.
