New idea for wagering on Baseball, wish it was an option
Essentially its like this: Say the Red Sox are facing the Yankees and you think that the Yankees are going to DESTROY them.

For every run the yankees win by you win a selected amount say $100. Up to a max of 5 or 10 or something. IF the yankees lose, you lose a unit per run they lose by.

So essentially lets say the max is $500 and each run is worth $100.

If the yankees win by 5 you win $500. If the yankees win by 1 you win $100. If yankees lose by 3 you lose $300. Lose by 5 and you lose $500.

The amount of the wager would be equal to the max # of units you could lose potentially so in the above example you would RISK $500.

What do you guys think of this type of wager?

I've always thought about that for football/basketball.

For instance, you bet a team at -4 and they win by 20. Or you bet a team at +11 and they lose by 3.

I feel like there would be too much variance in those sports for books to take that risk. With baseball the average win is probably by 2 runs or so, so not that huge or variance but I think it could work in all sports in some way. It'd be pretty cool I think.
