    Machine Choice Saturday (5-3 YTD)
One of my losses this year involved my starter getting pulled after 1 inning due to injury, and another one involved the Dodgers losing in extra innings last night. I could easily be 7-1 right now, and people say stay away from the first week of baseball. Whatever. My approach for this year is the same as usual, lay no juice higher than -120 and look for solid dogs when possible. Good example was last night with the Royals in Anaheim, and the season opener fading the Cubs as faves.

    Today....

Look at the pitcher stats, recent history, run production this year, and trends and then find me ONE REASON not to take the Tigers and David Price today. I'll answer my own question and give myself two reasons: Indians are at home and Brantley is back in the line-up. That's not enough.

    TIGERS -115

          2nd Play: Tampa Bay -112

Cosart has had off the field distractions related to gambling investigation this Spring and had a rough Spring on the field as well. Last April he was erratic throughout the month. So far the Rays have shown more pop in the bats than the Marlins. And of course Chris Archer was an elite pitcher last year, especially on the road and at Marlins Park. This will be one of the very few spots where I will back the Rays this year. I just don't trust that Cosart is ready to go, and he has a blister that's been bothering him on his thumb. Too many unknowns not to back Archer and Longoria in this spot.

This is starting to shape up nicely. I will need to make a late play as well..... Maybe go 3-0 today.

The Angels are hitting .195 vs righties. I've seen enough.

Now 8-3 overall. Should be 10-1.
