Felix Hernandez - becoming what we thought he was?
Felix Hernandez pitches for the seattle mariners and has all the potential in the world to be Cy young winner this year, his first outing looked great, he showed a lot of maturity on the road and i see this underratted and overlooked pitcher to make a killing on the books this year, seattle is scoring runs with a new coaching philosophy and new veterans like griffey and sweeney. as well as Brandon Morrow moving to the bullpen to hopefully be a star, even though he was drafted to be a starter, he has a strong fastball and should be able to save some games.

just calling it now, Felix Hernandez win 15 games this year, with ERA of UNDER 3.0

to his credit, he had one bad inning where he struggled badly with control... and our catcher jobbed him pretty hard, resulting in a couple of the runs... his strikeout pitch was working tonight... he will rebound!

Did I say he won us the game? No. If he shows enough mental toughness (unlike his countryman and idol, Freddy Garcia), he has a chance to be something special. So maybe you're a bitter Ranger, Angel, or A's fan, but Felix is only 21, and has more talent than 99.999999% of pitchers his age.

That being said, these 2009 Mariners are improved, and might just have a shot at 85 or so wins that could be enough to contend in a crappy division.

              so there.

Felix needs to be on a better team to win 15 games. Put him on the Yanks or Red Sox and he wins 20 games.
