The Astros have struck out out 36 times so far this year, and Gattis alone has struck out 8 times in a row. Altuve is 1 for 11 in his last 12 at bats. The team has totaled 3 runs. Yesterday they made an average pitcher look like Randy Johnson. Now they head across state to play the Rangers and face Derek Holland. He missed most of last year recovering from knee surgery, but when he returned in September, he was lights out: 1.46 ERA in 37 innings of work, with 25Ks and no HRs allowed. He held the Astros to 2 ER over 7 innings on Sep 22.
Astros starter Colin McHugh pitched phenomenal last year and also had a great Spring.... but, he did post a 4.35 ERA in 7 daytime starts. So that may affect him today, since the game starts at 3:05 pm CST. Regardless, I don't see him giving up much today. Yet, the Rangers played well in April last year (15-12) and the Astros are 6-20 in the last 26 games in Arlington. With a high of only 62 degrees today, I will make two plays:
TEXAS ML (EV)
TEX/HOU UNDER 8.5 (-120)
