The Braves are going to disappoint a lot of bettors early this season who still think they are the same team as last year. The staff they're rolling out there this season is a far cry from the crap they had to go with last year. Next up for the Phillies tomorrow is Kawakami - the Japanese Maddux. I would advise against just blindly betting the Braves to lose that one because they won the 1st two. Yes they CAN sweep the Phillies in the season opener.
Speaking of the new look Braves pitching staff, just wait'll you get a load of Tommy Hanson this summer. Think ... a young Roy Halladay but with a little more zip.Comment -

Correction from above... Kawakami is not pitching tomorrow. It's just Javy Vazquez. Opening as a dog to Joe Blanton. Vazquez was incredible in the WBC and spring training. I gotta think the Braves are likely to win that game.Comment -

So if its sunny out, Citizens Bank Park has a shadow that keeps the batter in the shade and the pitcher in the sun which makes the ball harder to pickup. I agree the bats have to come alive sometime, but as a Phillies fan, i know that the FIGHTINS' are a TERRIBLE April team. I give them the lean here because of all the festivities and celebration. Blanton has been a solid pitcher in a Phillies uniform. Im not giving the over any action until the weather warms up in the northeast.Comment -

Today: Windy. Mostly cloudy skies will become partly cloudy this afternoon. High 53F. Winds WSW at 20 to 30 mph.
It appears from the picture the home plate is on the south. With 20-30 mph winds blowing from behind and from the left of home plate any fly ball hit in center or right field will have a good chance of getting carried for a home run. The problem is noone is hitting for the Phillies at this time so weather conditions are not a big factor.Comment -
