I'm struggling to stay around .500 three days into the season.

Bovada live betting is saving me. You can get some really nice + numbers. If you like a dog, just take them after their first AB for better odds or you can get feels for games and take whichever side seems right.

I primarily use 5Dimes but Bovada gets too much hate and is a nice option to have especially in bases when dogs are good bets.

This isn't really a mistake by Vegas. By the away team not scoring in the 1st, they then have 8 chances to outscore their opponent who still has 9 innings worth of AB's. If you assume a game is 50/50 (ignoring the vegas odds) from the start, it's generally accepted that there's about a 4-5% decrease in win% by not scoring in the first. To put it in terms of odds and what you should expect to see if you bet the away team after a scoreless top ofthe first (you can fudge the numbers as you see fit, but that's a general starting point)....
