Interesting historical note about Kazmir's fast start (from MLB.Com's press notes). Prior to Kazmir's consecutive starts to the season with at least 8k's, the last Athletics pitcher to do so was in 1914--the same year that WWI started, Charlie Chaplin deputed in film, and the Panama Canal opened. Some of Kazmir's strikeout credit should be shared with the Astros and Rangers' hitters, who must be issued t-ball bats whenever they face a left handed pitcher.

Athletics Royals was a great watch, and unfortunately, the line movement on the total was telling as the game went under. On the other hand, beating the total by a whole run does not mean jack squat, as the M's and Rangers look to be the highest scoring game of the day. It happens and is to be expected.
Fortunately, the Marlins and Mets prop hit and the damage was somewhat limited.

Head's up on tonight's Cards Nats game, but MLB network is showcasing their statcast, realtime technology. Probably one of those features that sounds like a great idea, but will make for a terrible viewing experience. I'll be attempting to watch tonight's game with an open mind.
My thoughts on the Reds' manager's tirade: this is not yesterday's age. This is the age of information and as manager of a professional club, he should expect that every aspect of his club is going to be scrutinized. It's part of today's gig. He can try to keep information close to his vest, but there's no need to get his 1950s panties in a bunch if the media digs around, or player's spill the beans, etc.., and information gets leaked to baseball fans and opponents. Guess what? The Reds aren't the only ones under the microscope. Times have changed. His expectations of the media are obsolete.

I'd like to say that I am immune to getting tilted, but it's not the case. After last night's 9th inning 3 run bomber to sink my Marlins bet , I let loose on the Astros for way too much and thought for sure that bet was toast, until the top of the 8th, when one went my way. I don't think any bet that I've made so far, which has beat the market for a decent amount, has won, outside of the Mets Team Total 3 -130 which moved to 3.5 -120. Been a tough start to the season.
