Ive seen people say this over the years. You've claimed this is just a hobby, so I'm not harping here, Just pointing out a misconception about professional sports betting.

Hobbyists are looking at who's going to win the game often with little regard for the line. Since its just for fun, it makes sense as it makes watching the game more exciting. Pros on the other hand are in it to make money and they do it by looking at which line has an edge. They find a line with an edge by handicapping the game.

Whether one makes a hundred +ev bets in a day or a year is irrelevant, its still 100 bets. Just think about a blackjack table. The house has a 1% edge. A couple of people making a few bets a day will not make money for the House. But a around the clock full table will make millions for the house due to the large volume of bets with that tiny 1% edge. The more hands being played equates to larger profits.

Sports betting is no different. You find a line with a 1% edge or better, you make the bet period and its the volume thats going to make you money. Not any one bet.

Maybe, your criticism of LT should be along the lines of him needing to re-evaluate his current filters.
