To get back to you, I lost or pushed on 3 of my last 10 Under bets because I didn't buy the hook...maybe this is a small sample though...probably in long run will limit times I buy up for 1/2 run
But if a total is at 6.5 (the number I like least), will normally buy the hook...or if at 8.5 and doesn't cost much, will buy up to 9.

Of the 10 games, I only bought half a run 2x...it mattered 1 of those times...won instead of push.
Like I said, maybe it was just odd this past week I lost by .5 or pushed...will almost always buy .5 runs if total is 6.5 though
If 6.5 is -130, I will take 6...if 6.5 is -105, will take 7 for -135
