Despite a decent pitching matchup on paper with Carpenter and Peavy, look for the Cardinals and Padres to go over the total in this afternoon's game in San Diego.

Jake Peavy's lifetime numbers vs. St. Louis are poor (5.66 ERA; 1.57 WHIP) and he's gone over the total in 13 of his last 17 day games.

Also, Chris Carpenter is in awful form (12 earned runs in his last 15 innings). I look for a high-scoring affair to start this series. Take the over.

I think this game will be a low scoring game myself. I can see both pitchers going 7 strong innings in this one.

This is one where I'd go for a prop instaid. Over 28.5 Hits+Runs+Errors. I see a bunch of hits, and a fair amount of runs.

The only thing that scares me about this under i'm liking, is the fact that there protecting pulojs in that lineup very well today.
