    Kris Bryant demolishes HR #21

    Good grief, that swing!

He leads the Southern League in literally every single hitting category, including both HR and walks. 21 HR in 62 games sounds nice, but it seems even nicer when you consider that the guy in 2nd has 13. Even more, his 1.177 OPS is 234(!!!) points higher than the guy in 2nd (.943). His slash line is absurd. The Southern League is known as a pitcher's league.

This follows on the heels of winning Arizona Fall League MVP and similarly dominating at Rookie and A. Oh yeah, the prior season he only broke the single season college baseball HR record with 31 in 62 games.

It's not unfair to ask how he could not be good enough, like yesterday, for a spot in the Cubs lineup.

Too early? He's 22. He'll be up soon. The Cubs want to put cheeks in the seats.

22 but not even a full year in minors, could see if he was already at AAA.

Plenty of top prospects came up before a full season, especially ones from college, and he started last season I think in July so he's at almost at a full season now.

Troy Tulowitzki is a good comp. He was also 22 and had and had played 126 games when he was called up straight from AA bypassing AAA. Bryant is at 98 and that doesn't even include has MPVP stint in the fall league. And Bryant's minors numbers are way more dominant. There's just no benefit to delaying his MLB career much longer. He doesn't need AAA.

Since his promotion to AAA Iowa, Bryant has 4 HR in 5 games. Of course, that's all of his hits so far, but regardless....this boy is sick. Just one of the best power and overall hitting prospect we've seen in awhile.

Now 5 HR in 6 games at AAA. After hitting (only) 22 HR in 63 games at AA.
