    Detroit Blows
I can't believe that the Tigers got swepted by the Royals, and ended up losing that Division. It's not so much they blew the division to me, as much as the type of fashion they lost it.

Detroit owned the Royals all season too.

Maybe they wanted the Yankees instead of the A's

Well, thats one way of thinking

Now this one has to rank right up there with one of the biggest choke jobs in MLB history.

Just one win against KC would have done the trick. They have nobody to blame but themselves.

I don't think they will sweep them, but I think they will win.

Ok, I understand how when a team slips down the stretch they leave themselves open to the general public calling them chokers.

But what if it had been the other way around? What if the Tigers had opened with a 12-16 record in April and then gone 16-9 down the stretch in September instead of the exact opposite which is what they did? Detroit would be the talk of the game if it had happened like that.

The Tigers far exceeded expectations this year. And while it's true that just one win over the lowly Royals the final weekend would have secured the division and better playoff seeding, the fact they made it into the postseason over both Red & White Sox should be celebrated.

NO, NO, NO, you got it all wrong.
They know they'll pwn the #1 seed and want a better draft pick!

Btw, I think the wildcard system in baseball is B.S.
The Wildcard should get NO home games.
162 games is plenty to decide the best teams... If you are barely good enough to get in, you don't deserve 2 home games in a row in the 1st round and 3 in the 2nd. That'sgarbage.

That's how Det is 'sploitin the system.
Leyland is a brilliant manager because he can smoke a pack of butts per game and you wouldn't see a lung rocket in his hand via camera no matter what. He's a mastermind like that!

Seriously - The Yanks, while dominating in the regular season, should pray for Kenny Rogers as much as they can get him.
If they get him only 1 time and late,.. I got a real bad feeling they are going nowhere.

Earl Weaver used to be the same way. And I think that's why I was such a Keith Hernandez fan. After they outlawed smoking at your seat in the Astrodome, you'd still see Hernandez puffing away in the visitor's dugout between innings.

They sure do. Can't believe they didn't trim the margin against Proctor and Farnsworth with the shit they were throwing up there.
