Is it Better to Risk you unit or win you unit when betting MLB Baseball Favorites????

Been going back and forth with this idea. Any insight would be very helpful.

Is it best to Risk my unit amount or win my unit amount when betting Baseball Favorites?

ie. Reds -114 15* = $150
Risk 150 to win 131.58
or
Risk 171 to win 150

Whats works out better long term?

My suggestion (and the way I wager) is to wager an amount to win one unit.

So if your unit is $100, you would wager:

$100 @ +100
$150 @ -150
$ 80 @. +125

This is based on the concept of Kelly and assumes that your edge is fairly consistent across various odds ranges.
