Just to play devils advocate as an Orioles fan, the O's bats are super hot right now and Jimenez finally had a good outing in his last start. If both of those things continue with the home crowd behind them the Royals are in for a rough one. I don't hate your play but I certainly don't think there is enough edge on either side of this game to justify going big on it.

For some reason though, the Oriole bats have been quiet at OPACY so far. Small sample size though.

baltimore are not hugely offensively, they've done very well past week but that can't be all season. Huge public shift to Kansas all morning.

who the public is on is not going to help the Orioles hit ACE Venturas heat.

you really tryin to fade this man coming off a bad outing?

he is going to make the Orioles his bitch tonight.

Tonite will be Jimenez's fifth start of the season.

Last year, in his fifth start, Jimenez also faced the Royals, at Kansas City, and gave up 3 H in 7 IP for 0 ER and a W. That was after coughing up 4, 7 and 7 ER in his previous three outings.

Jimenez went on to win 7 of his next 9 decisions.

Upshot -- don't count Jimenez out. His velocity is down so far this season, but he's facing a KC lineup that's scored the third fewest runs in MLB this year ahead of only Houston and San Diego.

I like Ventura to put in a decent performance but I'm wary of the good Ubaldo showing up and mowing down. Then again I wouldn't be surprised if he coughs up 4 ERs in 4 IP. Sitting this one out.

This Royals team is starting to come around offensively. Eric Hosmer is hitting .364 against Ubaldo.

I know the Orioles bats are hot but good pitching always beats good hitting.

4th in the AL in runs/game without a lot of their regulars hitting for power (Davis, Jones and Hardy) is not too shabby.

                        thank you.

on the card still waiting for Pittsburgh +1.5, texas big, oakland, washington(pretty obvious), i'd personally like to see CWS win but that doesn't matter
