Detroit scored two in the ninth to take a 6-5 lead. Final box score shows 6-5 final but bookmaker graded it a 5-4 loss. Was game called in the bottom of the ninth due to weather? If Detroit is being given an official win shouldn't this be the sportsbook ruling as well?

#2Game was called in the middle of the ninth inning after Detroit took the lead in the top half. So for BETTING purposes, score reverts back to the last completed inning, which was Braves 5-4.
Had this been a regular season game, it would have been suspended and picked up in the bottom of the 9th at a future date. But the GRADING would be exactly the same, reverting back to last completed inning.Comment -

#7Yeah just desserts for betting first day of spring training. When you only bet football and baseball though, that stretch in Feb with no action is long and lonely. Plus I've made money every year betting ST. Just never started this early...Comment -

#8Is there an actual rule on this posted somewhere?? I know all about suspended games but this isnt one, and this isnt a regular season game, so thats not relevant here either in my opinion.Comment -

#9Yes it's relevant because the Braves never got a full chance to come back. The fact that MLB awarded Detroit the win is irrelevant, from the sportsbook's perspective, the game did not go the full nine innings (with road team ahead).Comment -

All regular season and exhibition baseball games are considered official after 5 innings of play (4½ if the home team is winning). If a game is called or suspended after 5 innings, the winner is determined by the score after the last full inning of play – unless the home team scores to tie or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in that case, the winner is then determined by the score at the time the game is called. When betting on baseball totals or run-lines, the game must go 9 innings (8½ if the home team is winning).Comment -
