Take Derek out of NY and you would never hear of the guy, he is surrounded by all stars so gets all the easy pitches to hit.

No one has done more than Thomas for his team this year.

I think Justin morneau has done just as much, if not more for his team this year. The problem is that the small market players won't get the hype, much less the support from the voters and thats sad really.

He is the singular reason why general managers need to keep their mouths shut when they release a veteran all-star player. Thomas just punked the White Sox last night and had to feel good doing it.
