Therir little underachieving act ended with no outs, bases loaded, down 1, in the bottom of the eight.

Championship teams get at least one in that situation, minimum.

If Oakland goes 1-2-3 pound the Tigers in game 5, the life will be sucked out of them

Because Sogard is a slick fielding second baseman, which is very important to team defense, up the middle defense is vital, and even though he is a light hitter, does hit .266 and hits RHP well.

Same reason why Tommy Helms and Doug Flynn had MLB careers for a long time

Not really an auto-out, and saves singles through the middle with the glove.

If his glove saves a single or two, and goes 1 for 4, isn't that kind of like going 2 for 4?
